The inaugural Fortune Most Powerful Women Asia meeting and gala dinner was held November 12, 2013 in Hong Kong, and gathered Asia’s most prominent women leaders in business, along with leading women from government, media, philanthropy and the arts.

Fortune Most Powerful Women, which started as a list in the magazine 15 years ago and a conference 14 years ago, has evolved into the preeminent community of women leaders in business and beyond. The international expansion of MPW began in 2012 with Most Powerful Women: London and continued at the 2013 Fortune Global Forum in Chengdu, China. Recent MPW participants have included included CEOs Angela Ahrendts of 
Burberry, Indra Nooyi of PepsiCo, Ellen Kullman of DuPont, Sheri McCoy of Avon Products, Ginni Rometty of IBM, Pat Woertz of ADM, Marissa Mayer of Yahoo and Shunee Yee of CSOFT. Also: Yang Lan of Sun Media Group, Peggy Yu Yu of DangDang.com, Mellody Hobson of Ariel Investments, Billie Jean KingSheryl Sandberg of Facebook,Tyra Banks, and Jing Ulrich of J.P. Morgan.
