The senior-most leaders of the Republic of South Africa, including President Jacob Zuma and Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe welcomed delegates to the 2010 Global Forum.

The Global Forum, hosted by Fortune, TIME, and CNN, gathered global leaders in Cape Town to focus on substantive issues and opportunities in the developing world in June 0f 2010, at a time when the eyes of the globe were on South Africa for its historic moment in the world of sports. The Forum focused on the substantive issues and opportunities in the developing world.

Since 1995, the Global Forum has convened the heads of global business—the chairmen, presidents, and CEOs of the world’s largest companies—on the dynamic frontiers of international commerce. In Cape Town, the experience was enhanced with the inclusion of TIME 100 honorees: the world’s most influential people from the highest ranks of government, science and technology, business, sports, media, entertainment, and nongovernment organizations. Their participation yielded rich insights into the broader, interdisciplinary context in which today’s global companies are operating.

In addition to delivering the benefits of this substantive business curriculum, the Global Forum is the place to forge enduring new friendships and enjoy a rich personal experience that includes intimate dinners in the private homes of South Africa’s most distinguished citizens.
